X-Pro3 shot-to-shot time

In single shot mode I'm getting a bit of lag (maybe half a second) before I can take a second shot. (there's a "storing" message and a little square in the viewfinder.

An easy work-around is just to set drive to low speed continuous and remove pressure on the shutter release just after the shot. This makes shooting almost instantaneous, but I can't help but think it should be snappier in single shot mode.

I can't find any references to this; I'm assuming it would be the same for an X-T3...
