Does MF make sense?

I've using the x-pro2 quite a bit and I am wondering if MF makes sense anymore. In the x-pro2 and in the t1, I think, Fuji included the option of AF+MF which basically allows to adjust manual focus after auto focusing. I find this option as a fair compromise between AF and MF. The only thing that MF mode does that I like better is when shooting with the OVF the zoom box is adjust when the focus ring is span but in AF you need to halfpress the shutter button. What is your take on this?
