Perhaps this is not the correct place to post this but since getting an Xpro1 I've been intrigued as to how the Leica bodies like M9 and earlier film bodies achieve focus and so accurately at that.
What is the mechanics/design of the system that they use, what couples the movement on the manual lens(including old manual lens with no electrical contacts to communicate with the body) to the focus guidance/confirmation system in the viewfinder?
