X-Pro1 Viewfinder Question

I am a new X-Pro1 owner and this may be a beginner question, but here goes.

My X-Pro1, which I bought used on eBay, has been working fine except for one peculiar thing. It needed a firmware update, which I installed. The 18-55 zoom I bought separately also needed a firmware update, which I also performed. So both are up-to-date. I also purchased a Fuji M-X adapter, which I like.
