X-P2 Owners - a question re: Camera Remote App

I tried to take some stealth pics leaving the camera on a table while having a coffee.

Terrible lag made it near impossible.

Have any you tried this with better results?

Tried it twice. Once with 18-135 and once with the 18mm.

JPEG Fine.
